Monica Hasek, R.Y.T.
Monica and Robert came back to their roots of Ohio to be closer to family after living in Oregon and Alaska. They founded Yoga Springs Studio in the spring of 2004. They are grateful to local yoga teachers and the community for supporting their vision of creating a space for healing, community and yoga.
She is a registered yoga teacher with the National Yoga Alliance. In 2003 she received a 200-hour Hatha yoga teaching certification from Lynne Minton of the Inner Dance Yoga Studio in Anchorage, Alaska. Her teaching style emphasizes safety, focusing on healthy alignment of the spine and joints.
She continues to study with Lynne Minton, Judith Lasater, and various teachers of the B.K.S Iyengar tradition. In 2005 she traveled to Northern India to study yoga and deepen her understanding of Hinduism and Buddhism.
In addition to teaching Gentle and Beginner classes, Monica enjoys sharing yoga with teens. She leads the Yogini Camp for girls, offering stretching and relaxation as a way to deal with the challenges of teen life. She teaches classes for teen programs such as Upward Bound in Springfield, Daybreak and Teen Life Link in Dayton.
