Yoga 101 Sessions

This is a great place to start your yoga journey in the company of other beginners. This four week class meets once a week and is designed to familiarize you with Yoga Springs and the basics of yoga. We encourage you to bring a friend, co-worker or family member as you begin this new journey. Each session is limited to 12 participants, please register in advance $45 for 4 weeks.

Yoga for Weight Loss

Being overweight is a result of many factors. It is much more complex than an imbalance between intake and output. It is a state of a physical, emotional, and chemical or neuro-hormonal imbalances, much of which has its origins in the type of foods we eat, limited physical activity, emotional disharmony and our very stressful lifestyle. This special focus class is a brief survey of how the integration of Yogic principles in our pursuit of physical, spiritual and emotional wellness, is the bedrock for creating a life of harmony, good health and well-being by cultivating mindfulness. Each class will focus on a particular topic including stress reduction, proper nutrition, exercise, Yoga practice including a discussion of the Yamas (universal codes of conduct) and Niyamas (individual practices to bring harmony), practicing Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation and journaling as tools for restoring homeostasis (internal balance and stability). We recommend bringing a journal. 6-weeks for $68, Pre-registration required.

explore yoga intertwined with issues common to women of all ages in a safe, supportive, setting. Each class will focus on different poses, breathing and relaxation methods and the benefits as they relate to overall health and well-being. We will use the book 30 Essential Poses as our guide, available for purchase at the studio.
