Monica Hasek, E-RYT 200

Monica and Robert came back to their roots of Ohio to be closer to family after living in Oregon and Alaska. They founded Yoga Springs Studio in the spring of 2004. They are grateful to local yoga teachers and the community for supporting their vision of creating a space for healing, community and yoga.
She is a registered yoga teacher at the ERYT200 level with the National Yoga Allianceand the director of the Yoga Springs Studio Teacher Training program. In 2003 she received a 200-hour Hatha yoga teaching certification from Lynne Minton of the Inner Dance Yoga Studio in Anchorage, Alaska. Her teaching style emphasizes safety, focusing on healthy alignment of the spine and joints. She infuses the ancient teachings of the yoga sutras and life affirming tantric philosophy into her teachings, inspiring all the be there best.
She continues to study with Lynne Minton, Judith Lasater, Sianna Sherman and various teachers of the Iyengar and Anusara traditions. In 2005 she traveled to Northern India to study yoga and deepen her understanding of Hinduism and Buddhism.
Her ultimate yoga practice began in April 2007 with the birth of her daughter Olivia. As a mother with the guidance of her new teacher, she applied her years of practice on the mat, to the challenging moments of motherhood.
In 2010 Monica and Bob completed a 100 hour Anusara Immersion with Sianna Sherman.
Monica’s light hearted approach to yoga encourages everyone to feel at home and nourished at Yoga Springs Studio.
“Yoga has inspired me to be more patient, less judgmental, and both compassionate and daring. These areas of my self were previously undiscovered before I first placed my hands on a yoga mat.
The practice of asana has cultivated a strength and stability that has both changed my body and my perspective of it. Also, I have become more balanced emotionally. I now look for the good in people and situations, carrying this positive outlook even towards myself through consistent forgiveness and fresh starts.
Yoga has inspired me to cherish the moment, whether snuggling with my daughter or saluting the sun rising on the beach. As I bend forward and back, as I lean from right to left, and as I turn in and shine out, yoga ultimately inspires me to be me
