Becky Krebs, R.Y.T.
Becky began practicing yoga in 1996, introduced to the yogic journey by loving friends while living in the High Sierras of California. After moving to Vermont in 2000 to complete graduate studies in psychology and wellness, she began to study yoga and meditation formally, attending seminars at the Omega Institute, YogaVermont, the Hard and Soft Yoga Institute and Om Yoga in New York City, the Meditation Center in Barre, Vermont, and other institutions dedicated to teaching wellbeing. She completed the 200-hour level teacher training program at Yoga on High in Columbus in 2006 after moving home to Ohio to be closer to family and grow roots in here in Yellow Springs.
She has studied with teachers David Swenson, Rodney Yee, Marshall Rosenberg, Pema Chödrön, Cyndi Lee, Jack Kornfield, Jean Couch, and Beryl Bender Birch. Locally she acknowledges the generosity of teachers Linda Oshins, Marcia Miller, Martha Marcom, and Mary Sinclair.
Although Becky will always be an Astangi at heart, she discovered Hatha practice to be a creative awarenessing of the holistic integration of the mind, heart, and body. She teaches the beauty of Iyenger style alignment with meditation, pranayama, and flowing vinyasa to create classes vibrant with visual imagery and mindful pose sequencing. Her training has focused on working with many types of students, including prenatal and people working with anxiety and depression. She has witnessed the healing liberating power of yoga and enjoys teaching empowerment to her students.
Along with teaching Prenatal, Hatha level I/II and II/III Flow, Becky works locally as a mental health therapist and enjoys hiking, climbing, and hanging out in the village.
